It’s your reaction to adversity that determines how your life’s story will develop.

I’m a firm believer that in adversity lies opportunity. Covid-19 has left thousands jobless and freelancers without a stable source of income.

However, this should not demotivate you. It should inspire your creativity. Here are some ideas that you could develop, offer as a freelance to companies based solely around COVID-19

Create Data Charts about COVID-19

What’s the one thing you always notice online? A bar chart, pie chart , a visual map showing COVID-19. What does that mean? There’s a demand for data visualization! It does not need a data scientist to create. Accompany this with some findings in an article format, and you have a product you can offer to several clients.

Something like this:

If you want to know how to do it, leave a comment below and I’ll show you how to easily create such data charts.

Edit Zoom Videos

There has been a surge in online meetings through Zoom. As a result, companies require these videos to be shortened, summarised and edited. You don’t need advanced video editing skills to do this. But you can offer a service which includes cutting, editing and transcribing these videos during the COVID-19 pandemic specifically

Even if things calm down a bit, online meetings will become more regular. So this is a golden business to get into.

Create online learning courses about COVID-19

Organizations are mandated to upskill employees on COVID-19. As we are learning about it, content is being created as well. Every single minute new content arises that was never there before — learning courses about COVID-19 is thus just getting started.

Use sites like Thinkifc, Teachable, Kanjabi etc. to develop a course, show off to potential clients and hopefully land long term work:

Listicles

Create a listicle — an article that is in the form of a list. “Top 5” “The ten most” “How the Five most”..etc.

These are information sharing articles that bring together facts and information from other articles. These immediately grab the attention of audiences that want to know information summarised. There are many websites that can be found using a simple Google search that pays well for List Articles. Just Google them :) I wrote a list article as an example:
